FUNDRAISER AT BURNSIDE SKATEPARK

Sunday October 8th, 2023 from 1pm to 6pm BURNSIDE

ALL AGES FREE EVENT OPEN TO PUBLIC

Burnside Skatepark is hosting an all-ages free event to raise funds for concrete and other HIGH TOUCH construction costs to build a new feature at the park. Free food & drink courtesy of Fam Jam, and local art and musical guests paid for by Vision Studios.

The Burnside Skatepark Project and the 501c3 non-profit need help from the public to fund the new adition to the northwest corner of the park. Demolition has already begun with volunteers and donated equipment from the park OG’s, but funding is needed to pay for additional concrete and labor.

Burnside Skatepark is a historical landmark to the City of Portland. It also sparked the creation of DIY skateparks around the world. The Burnside DIY culture inspired FDR in Philly, Marginal Way in Seattle, Channel Street in San Pedro, and Washington Street park in San Diego.

Come join the locals and bring the family on Sunday afternoon. There will be non-alcoholic beverages, hot dogs, pizza, local artwork, music, and shredding. Donations are encouraged, but the event is free. Raffle tickets are for sale to win prizes from local vendors. There will be an afterparty around sunset at a nearby venue where footage will be screened with scenes from a documentary film that explores the evolution of Burnside Skatepark and the local skaters.
