Skate Legends by Michael Brook

Legend (From dictionary.com)- One that inspires legends or achieves legendary fame.
For $19.95 you can order a book that does a fairly adequate job of introducing a huge assortment of skateboarding characters and legends from the 1960’s to the present. You’ll be sure to find many of the names that have sprung out of the skatemags and beer drenched memory banks of many old skate dogs over the decades.

I think most old timers will find it leaving out many legends that come to their minds though. Some egos will probably get a little bruised by not being included, but what can you the reader do about it? NOTHING!!! Still the book over compensates for some missing skaters by putting in many sub-legends for your enjoyment.

After putting the book down for a while and finally picking it up again to read once more I found it extremely enjoyable. I learned some things about many guys I used to read about and admire. The accompanying photos are great and the bio write-ups are pretty good although not always very beefy and not always explaining why these rippers are legends.
