After riding this strange but intriguing beast of a board several times, I can honestly say it is a great contraption. For those of you not familiar with Flowlab, which I will guess is damn near everyone, this is a new design that incorporates the feel of snow boarding with the one thing the west coast is packed with, paved hills. Fourteen wheels on two curved trucks comprise the suspension of the Flowlab. This unique setup allows you to “carve” down a hill much the same way a snow board does. I know what you’re thinking, “I can just loosen the shit out of my trucks on my current board and get the same results”. Not even close!! This board actually allows you to kick out the rear end of the board a bit and really lean into the carve. Use caution though, if you lean too far your toes or heals will catch the pavement and send you flying just like on a snow board. Except the landing is a bit harder. The only flaw I can see with this board is the odd number of wheels on each truck. This makes riding the board straight almost impossible and definitely unstable at high speeds (just ask JT about his trip to the ER on night #1). And forget pushing this thing down the path along the beach, the odd wheel thing makes it very hard to control. Yep, the board is definitely a downhill machine. But unlike Chicago, the Sunshine State is a great place to take advantage of gravity and dream of powder on a hot summer day.

This Board retails for approx $200.00
