A residential area built a mini-skatepark on its playground

Florida went through a skatepark explosion second only to California in 1977. This did not only bring the state huge, fully featured parks; it also brought small specialty parks such as this cement loop with its own shade structures.

The park included the playground structures, basketball courts, tire swings, a tetherball court, and the banked skateboarding track. Designer Wayne Edwards said, "I try to remember what was fun for me as a kid and combine a current activity that most kids participate in...Skateboarding is the current fad, and we've provided those enthusiasts with a unique circular track patterned after larger skateboard facilities."
