Take AZ Loop 101 to the Northern Ave exit. Go east on Northern Ave to 91st Ave, and turn north (left). Drive 4/10 of a mile, and turn left into the office complex opposite of El Caminito Drive. The skatepark is in the second set of offices, on the left side of the parking lot, in unit #54; look for the giant "91 West" logo on the windows.
91 West is a relatively new, private, indoor skatepark in Peoria, Arizona, a western suburb of Phoenix. Located within minutes of the Loop 101 (take the Northern Ave. exit), it's in a large office/warehouse complex. The park is small, but very well-built; the use of Skatelite to create a brick-like texture on some of the hips and corners is novel, neat, and unique. The staff is friendly, the park is clean, the water fountains feature really cold water, there's a snack bar on site, the couches in the relax-room are comfortable, and... best of all... it's air-conditioned.
Rates are as follows: $15 for a 3-hour session; $25 for all day; and there's a $99 per month membership for unlimited skating. Private and group lessons are available; this park is super kid-friendly. My favorite part of the park was the 3' x 12' wide micro-ramp; it's fast, fun, and easy to learn new tricks on. -Bud Stratford, Concrete Wave Magazine/Concrete Disciples; Monday, September 26th, 2016.
