Fountain Plaza is a "pocket park", a novel, mixed-use green space with skateable features. A small, concrete park with a handful of street-centric obstacles (mostly bench-sized ledges, and a couple of four-stair sets) and a couple of transitioned features, it has a little something for everyone. Located at the intersection of two prominent thoroughfares, there are no restrooms or facilities here, but there's a strip mall and a gas station on the opposing street corners, so restrooms and refreshments are close at hand. The nearest skate shop is Freedom Board Shop, two miles away at 1316 S Gilbert Rd, Mesa, AZ 85204, (480) 892-1707, freedomboardshop.com. -Bud Stratford, Everything Skateboarding/Concrete Disciples, Saturday, February 10th, 2018
