The Roanoke Skate Park is roughly 20,000 square feet of skateboarding heaven, consisting of terrain for all ages and skill level. Although the primary use of this park is for skateboards, it also accommodates bikes (no pegs), inline skates and scooters. The pool at the upper level of the skatepark is nine feet deep (with a foot of vert) and six feet deep in the shallow end. It's capped off entirely with skate park pool coping and black and white, diner-colored pool tile. A long, 5 foot tall mini ramp complex includes several one foot extensions. The long and open plaza section can accommodate a lot of users and includes all of the features one can ask for - multiple stair sets, planter gaps, radius ledges, manual pads, rails, etc. The Roanoke Skate Park includes many artistic, skate features that are themed after the City's motto of being "The Unique Dining Capital of Texas". There's a down rail in the shape of a dinner knife. Two separated dinner plates are spaced perfectly apart for banked gap tricks. A dish at the front of the skate park closest to Cannon Parkway acts as a return wall or a place to do flip tricks. And finally, perched in between the pool and mini ramp at the top section of the park is an extremely unique, cantilevered, skate-able spoon. Standing at approximately 7 feet tall, you can ride smoothly off the flat slab and onto the profile of a 20 foot spoon. In addition to being great skate features to ride, our friends at New Line Skateparks have made sure these artistic features truly reflect of the City's efforts of supporting local restaurants.

Pretty decent park. Has lots of unique features, where the hell else can you skate a spoon and a frying pan??? Street and mini section are well built and fun. Lots of ledges, rails, hips and flat banks of all different sizes. The big bowl is kinda falling apart already. Lots of missing tile, some loose coping and there is a pretty bad kink near the flat in the shallow on the right side. Approach the spoon with caution, the roll in will give you lots of speed to hit the relatively small wall. I think this would have been cooler with a much bigger scoop. Definitely enjoyable and worth the stop if you like skating unique stuff or have a giant spoon fetish.
