Recently expanded and completed, the Penn Valley park is now a great all-around park with features donated by Street League. .
-Update - March 2012: Kansas City's Penn Valley Skatepark has finally been expanded and completed with a lot more street course! Featuring features featured in the 2011 Kansas City Street League competition, the Dyrdek Foundation and Street League donated skate elements and money to help get it built and to renovate the older elements. New hubbas, rails, ledges and quarter pipes. -November 2005: Finally a park that's actually in Kansas City! The bowl is pretty fun, the transitions are kinda tight, but pretty smooth, and the coping is good (for now). The street course is well... whacky. there are really big areas of just open space. the only connection from the bowl area to the street course is a set of stairs with two Hubba ledges and a nice square rail that head right into a fence. I honestly don't know if there are plans to build more or not. A local tattooed guy built a nice mini ramp (that formerly resided at Berkely Park) that was supposed to be moved here. there's a place for it, so we'll see. the park has a fence around it, and the gate has been locked so far (as of 11/12/05), but of course folks skate it anyway.
