This is where my kids & I are learning to skate, in our hometown, & in our summer travels to skateparks in NY & Indiana, we haven't found any place better. It just opened up this summer, &, as I say, we're beginners, but it's got lots of great banks & fun obstacles to work on street technique & two fun bowls that you can bank or drop into. There's a picnic shelter right next to it to shield you from the sun when you're resting (which helps, since it's been up to 105 degrees lately) & a restroom with water fountain right behind that. I really love that the City of Tuscaloosa built this in Palmore Park. Tuscaloosa is a pretty segregated town, so building a skate park on the West Side instead of in one of the wealthy neighborhoods forces some integration otherwise lacking & brings the neighborhood kids into contact with an intense activity they seem to be taking to. We also love that the older skaters are so friendly & willing to show the kids how to skate. The only downsides so far are the lack of lights to skate by after it gets dark & the access to BMXers. Some of them are skaters too & pretty aware but others not so much.
