excerpt from "The Guide to Western Skateboard Parks" - 1978
FEATURES:
Skatepark Soquel has five separate skating areas that are challenging for the advanced skater, yet give plenty of room for the beginner to work around and build up his proficiency. The first is a beginner/freestyle area 30' x 30' with banked walls and a 3' wall with a foot of vertical. A 9' deep mogul bowl forms a 50' x 50' x 50' triangle, and a 50' long half-pipe is 18' deep and 30' across, and gives 4' of vertical on each side.
There are two "S" runs which empty into bowls. The first has three turns with walls 7', 10', and 10'. The second has five turns with walls from 4' to 8'.
Soon to be added is a keyhole swimming pool with tile and coping. As all runs here have varying degrees of vertical, Skatepark Soquel should be a center for some radical riding in the Santa Cruz area.
