Later renamed "Sun City"
A group of four NorCal investors including Steve Stockwell of Menlo Park and Lynn Hethcock of Redwood City budgeted $180,000 for the first bay area skatepark. The first mention of the groups' plans only outlined three runs and a freestyle area, but then the scope broadened to five runs. When the park opened in mid-1978, there were even more. Spinnin' Wheels featured a half pipe, tile and coping pool, reservoir, intermediate snake run, advanced snake run, and washboard run.
In 1979 the park changed ownership and was renamed.
