JIMMY WILKINS EARNS FIRST DEW TOUR WIN IN SKATE VERT

Elliot Sloan and Pierre-Luc Gagnon Round Out the Podium at Dew Tour Los Angeles

Los Angeles, Calif. – August 14, 2015 – Dew Tour Los Angeles kicked off today at the Ace Hotel in Downtown LA with a dramatic down-to-the-wire competition.  Using his first run of the competition, 21-year old Jimmy Wilkins held onto first place through the duration of the Skate Vert Final.

Wilkins’ dynamic winning run included a back lip to newt five in the air, ollie to tailgrab five, kickflip mellon, lien air, ollie 540, and a 270 switch five-oh, earning a high score of 88.75. Looking to repeat his 2014 victory, Pierre-Luc Gagnon came in close second with a final score of 88.00, while Elliot Sloan rounded out the podium with an 86.75.

“I love LA, this city has a great skate scene so it’s perfect to have the Dew Tour here. I’m way stoked to have won, I like to just have a good time and let the skating progress itself,” said Wilkins of his first-ever Dew Tour win. “These are all my friends, so it’s awesome to travel and skate with them.”

The Dew Tour Los Angeles continues on Saturday August 15th, with gates opening at Noon PT, with Skateboard Street finals beginning at 4p.m. PT. The 2015 Dew Tour season will wrap up once again with a winter event in Breckenridge, Colo. at Breckenridge Ski Resort, December 10-13, featuring freeski and snowboard competitions.
