…you would think that the popularity of Vert skating would increase. Unfortunately that is not the case… With the popularity of shows like the X Games and Vans Triple Crown of skateboarding you would think that the popularity of Vert skating would increase. Unfortunately that is not the case and more and more parks are tearing down their Vert ramps to make room for a smaller ramp or added street obstacles. This should be interesting because many a good session was had on the bowl at the old Skate Street. After a demo by Mike Vallely one-year, I remember the Etnies team put on another show in the bowl for those that stuck around. Skate Street even had an official Bowl contest, which had good results.

Here’s to Skate Street taking a look at what was working and not working for them It was sad to see the ramp go down, after seeing many good sessions go down on it. That ramp was skated by the likes of Tony Hawk, and in this month’s Transworld, Rune Glifberg has a nice trick on it.

I think with the addition of the bowl there will be even more crazy sessions going down. While I haven’t seen the official plans yet, I am confident that it is going to be fun. So start thinking up lines to try because it should be finished pretty soon. See ya there.
