What a fantastic day for Lady skateboarders again down at Venice Beach Skatepark. The sun was shining and it was very warm for a November afternoon on the beach of Los Angeles. I counted 47 Lady competitors across the 5 divisions (not counting the street best trick) and it looked like every one of them had a fun grin on their faces all day.
The ‘Pups’ – 8 years old or under
The amount of cuteness in this division is beyond words. These little ladies find a way to charge into the arena (snake run), sometimes with mom and dads help, and end up with some of the biggest grins ever. They could light up the whole city of LA.

There are many thanks to spread around for making this such a sweet event. First the City of Los Angeles Parks and Rec, then the Venice Beach Skatepark Locals for keeping the park in such a shreddable fashion. Then the city councilman Mike Bonin whos backing made this a lot easier. Heidi Lemmon is instrumental in all its organization & management. Girl is Not a 4 letter Word for getting a lot of the ladies out. The MC of the day, Mr. Bart Saric from SkaterMade. The judges: Vicki Vickers (HOF), Monty Gibo, Vicky Orozco, Eddie Hadvina, and Lonny Toft. DJ VRSA who stepped in when our originally planned DJ disappeared (THANK YOU TONS!). Girls Play LA for incorporating the contest into the whole beach affair of the day. Kimi for organizing all the great Sponsor product into prize packages. It takes a village!
