This park is really fun. The local police are very relaxed too. If you travel here, make sure to stay at Bazils Hostel...which is LITERALLY across the street from the park. Wake and skate. While yourat it, make sure to check out the NZ Fur seal colony 16 km away in Tauranga.

In the parking lot adjacent, on weekends there is "car boot sale" where people sell junk out of their trunks. Some good finds, maybe an old deck, if your lucky.

I suggest you skate this most southerly park and then go get your most southerly beer in "Fin del mundo!

Skatepark Review

What's Good If you want to be able to say you skated the most southern park on any continent in the world...this is it!!!! Most of the shops on this main drag of San Martan sell full decks, skate accesories, clothing, and skate shoes.
What sucks Since it snows here and the weather is brutal due to the proximity of Anatarctica, the wood really takes beating. They would rather pain it than fix the rot. Some crazy metal sticking out in alot of places were it should not be. Transitions are good, but definatly only for the burly or super careful skaters.

If you love skating pools and bowls then you will love this bowl.

Skatepark Review

What's Good The bowl is the best part about this skatepark. Perfect transitions and very fast. I have made the hour+ drive several times from LA just to skate this bowl. The park in Filmore is a nice half way stopping point, so you can hit up two parks in one day.
What sucks Not much of a flow section.

OK, how do you say Fucking excellent! You say it by getting to this park to ride it's bowl immediately. It's a bowl of perfect proportions! Concrete, 10 feet deep end, tiles, pool coping, enough said. This is a bowl that everyone including top pros will shred to pieces.

You don't have to have a membership. Honestly it was hard to even look at the street course when this beauty was sitting in front of me. What I did notice is that it seems to go on forever. Ramp after ramp for at least a football fields worth.

This park is all street oriented. Nice and square. Like a tennis court. It's free concrete and outdoors. I didn't see anyone with any pads on, but I have a feeling that a helmet might be required when the police roll by.

Maple Valley is located in the center of Western Washington. Approx. 40 miles S.E. from Seattle. Reviews have been mixed about this one. It's pretty small. Nothing over 5 feet high. But it has a nice pyramid and hip.

1997 Review:
We have a real beauty here! There are quite a few visitors to this sweet little nest. There is a great 3 foot deep tight bowl (perfect!) that connects into a obstacle course containing a few rails, pyramids and ledges. There are also 2 nice hips going into the bowl and a tight wall in the street course. EVERYTHING IS UNDER 3 FEET!

We lovingly refer to it as the 'Dent in Kent'

Well I finally went by this park myself to see what was there. There wasn't much. The best obstacle may be the handrails which are set real low that go down 6 or seven stairs. You can see them in the background of the photo. It needs some banks to surround the whole course to get more mileage out of your riding.

It has 2 burly bowls that are round at the bottom and triangular towards the top. Each triangular section is like a mound/hippish type thing. There are no flat lips in the bowls and they spine at a monstrous point about 9-10 feet high. Don't even worry about the spine cuz each side opposing it is only 6 feet so there aint no way in hell to get speed for it. Any way... you can air pretty good outta one of the bowls into the street course where its pretty small but all bowled in. A good rectangle juts out from one flat wall about 2.5 feet high. A large 6 ft. burm/bank goes from low to high to low again with some token coping on top. I did get a couple grinds in but its not that easy. then there is a little twinkie shaped bump in the middle, real fun to fly over quick like, and a trannied both sides funbox with a good rail down it. It also has stairs off one side. This is about 3 feet high. With speed you can clear the whole thing. Then along the other bowled side there are some stairs in the middle then a good rounded pyramid with a grind ledge stretching out approx. 10 feet either way from the top. It's really fun cuz you can just keep on going and going! Dropping into the burly bowls and getting air out is always a good start to a line around a skatepark.

Bainbridge's skatepark is a bowl riders delight. Shallow to deep areas this design lets you rip to your best ability. Pool Coping surrounds the whole park so your going to be grinding down your trucks quite a bit. The surrounding park and trees make it a real nice place to hang out and skate all day.

Street skaters aint going to be happy about this one so if your not into tranny skip it.

This cement park is a wavy snake run with lots of little hips and no coping around the snake and bowl. There is a little coping in a square pool next to the snake run. It has a couple mellow rails and ledges as well. 9 a.m. to dusk.
