FOTH (Friends Of The Haight) is lobbying against a skatepark at the end of Waller St. using a smear campaign. I wonder if these same "friends" have a plan to rout the panhandling dirtbags who live in doorways in their own piss, shit, and vomit as well. Probably not. I would have been so stoked to have a skatepark when I lived there ---just because I am paranoid and have multiple personalities, it doesnt mean that I am not out to get me---

These NIMBYs need to move out of the city for their "peace and tranquility". Kids in cities need safe places to skate. Especially in cities, where 1 in 4 15 year olds is a skater. Okay I just made up that statistic but its based on a good hunch.

I bet if you polled all those on the friends list you will find that they are all Liberals. I lived in the bay area for over 10 years. Not the friendliest town for public skating and I don't think it was Rush Limbaugh holding it back. Just "adults" who want only "adult" fun in that town. Kids have to wait for mommy and daddy to get back from playing and partying before they get tossed some scraps. Any local knows. Lived in SF, Oakland, Richmond, Palo Alto, Mtn View, El Cerrito, Berkely, etc...

Weird considering their "socialist liberals" right? How could they say there is no need? There are plenty of parks in SF, but really just one skatepark that is not adequate compared to the number of skateboarders in the city and greater area. Haight sucks.

One older person living across the street forms an imaginary mob and tries to blow things out of the water in fear for her property values. Every one of those points has been defused years ago. A quick google search can pull up talking points.
