| BONES/AUTOBAHN/DEVILLE WHEELS (Product Review) |
| Brant Austin |
So I have received 4 sets of wheels to review and instead of doing separate reviews I am going to compare all of the wheels and pick the one I think is the best. I am doing this partially because all of the wheels except one were good and also I am lazy and would rather be skating than typing four reviews. I would like to cancel out the Yo-Yo wheels because the design is just retarded and just sucks in my book. I am not even going to put a picture of these wheels up because they're just stupid, look it up yourself and you’ll see. Now the one thing good thing I can say about the Yo-Yo wheels is that I think if you buy two sets they will fit on your roller blades or you could buy them for your boyfriend’s roller blades.

The first wheels up were 58mm Bones wheels that have a new shape that seems much more functional that before . This new shape trims off the fat from the previous shape that Bones was making the wheel much better. I really liked these wheels and the only place that I couldn’t ride these was the Combi at Vans because of the slickness of the Combi. The contact surface of these wheels was great and definitely not too slim. I was able to ride these everywhere else and the Bones wheels worked out great. The formula for the urethane is the same formula that they have been using for a while now so if you liked the Bones wheels before you’re going to love these babies. www.bones.com

Next up was a Set of the new Steve Caballero pro series wheels from Autobahn. These wheels come in 54mm, 56mm, 58mm, and 60mm , are 101a, and were slimmer that the Bones wheels. I rode the 56mm and really liked these wheels; since they are slimmer they are lighter than the Bones wheels. Again the only place that I had a problem with these wheels was in the Combi due to the slickness of the Combi. Everywhere else I rode these wheels they worked out great especially when I rode them at concrete parks. I think that the slim design of the wheels seemed to work with the 56mm and the 58mm wheels but I my opinion the 60mm needed to be wider. www.autobahnwheelco.com

Last up were a set of Wrex Cook, 58mm, Deville wheels out of Arizona. These wheels were a great shape and size built for all around function on all terrains. These wheels said they were 101a but they felt a little bit softer (100a) than the Bones and Autobahns. I thought these wheels were great and they were the top pick of the wheels I reviewed because I could ride them in the Combi , slippery pools and everywhere else. The greatest thing about a good wheel is when you can ride it everywhere and you don’t have to change your crap out at really slippery places. I feel the same way about the OJ3 wheels but I not reviewing them so back to the Deville’s. I heard a rumor that these wheels are also guaranteed not to flat spot or fall apart so if you get a set and have problems hit them up. www.devillewheels.com
So go get a set of Deville, Bones or Autobahn at your local skate shop where the kids that work there actually skate like Jokers of Huntington Beach, Liberty in Brea, DBC in San Clemente (all in Socal) and not those Walmart sized stores that actively try to get your business. If you can’t find a shop that carries these wheels than contact the companies directly.
