MeeksterBraü Über Alles (Product Review)
BLKPRJKT
I received a most kick-ass pack of gear the other day from parts north. Keith Meek dropped 5 tees and some sick vinyl skull stickers on me to announce his emerging MeeksterBraü brand. In case you're not familiar with the Meekster, he's been in it forever and is re-habbing after knee surgery in preparation to make mincemeat out of San Jose, Santa Cruz and any place else he decides to roll. One of the originators of the Santa Cruz / SJ hardcore skating vibe, Keith was always in the thick of things, getting photos in Thrasher, and generally blowing minds with his surf-influenced gnar-style. Skateboarder snubbed Keith on photos, but he was more than worthy, maybe just too gnarly for D. David Moron to comprehend. I can personally attest to witnessing his brand of skate terrorism at both Winchester and Milpitas, circa 1979, where he pretty much owned every inch of concrete. Nowadays, Keith is back with Santa Cruz, riding for the infamous Veteran's Division and out to destroy some backyards as well as the parks up north.

Local legend dictates Keith may have been involved in some rather dangerous clandestine micro-brewing at some point, giving birth to the label. Details of a possible forthcoming beer are being kept secret at the moment, but what you can be sure of is that you can get some badass tees and stickers right now. Keith is also working towards a multimedia surf/skate culture website featuring photogs Ted Terrebone and MOFO, some other heavy surf lensmen and interviews with surfers, skaters, bands and more from the SC/SJ territories. www.meeksterbraü.com is scheduled to launch sometime before the end of the year, and for now you can order up some beer-drinking and skateboarding finery at www.meeksterbraüstore.com. The tees are bitchin' and tagless for you itch-prone individuals. And in case you're not up on your German, Heisse den Kater Willkommen translates out to Welcome the Hangover. Words to live by.
