JFA
August 27th, @ The Anarchy Library in Downey, Calif.
Review and Photos by: J. Greenwood
Being 33 and still pumping some punk rock in my viens I made my way to meet my friends, drink some beers, and catch a legendary punk band I had never gotten to see before. Man what a good time we had!
Brian Brannon is one of the most 'keeping it real' punkers I have ever met. Hanging with us at the bar a few minutes while the other bands played, selling JFA t-shirts, then playing the show. What a cool skater and punker! Well recently (about the time I made his photo, the photo of the month) I was talking to him about his band and he said he'd been trying to get the old crew back together. He was having difficulties. Tonight, he let me in on the fact that he had found a new bass player and drummer who were ready for more action then the other ex-bandmates were down for. JFA would start anew!!!

Once the beers kicked in, we all decided to congregate outside in the parking lot and drink a lot of beers and shoot a lot of shit. Occasionally we'd go in and check out the other bands and they were rocking. I remember one of the band playing a remake of the punk classic 'Sit on my face Stevie Nicks' only they changed the title to 'Sit on My Face Britney Spears'. I thought I was the only one who remembered that song from Rodney on the Roq way back when!
Anyhow, the Disciples crew got all crazy in the fun pit acting like old men. Cameras flying, glasses flying, bleeding at the forhead, etc... We're pathetic old punkers, but we sure like to have fun!
All I can say is that it was a DAMN GOOD TIME!!!!!!!

P.S. watch out for more JFA shows soon!
