hollywood...does it get
any stranger? yes, but that is a different
story all together and it involves this smelly ass 's and m' club in seattle. the "club" is on this major roadway but it looks
like some kind of hardware supply store so, it's all disguised and you would
never know it was some funked out...umm...never mind.
anyway, we picked up troy at his pad in hollywood and headed down to juvee skateshop. we got there a little early, checked out the place and grabbed some grub at the dinky little burger joint out front. juvee is a skateshop with a killer, medium sized, indoor mini ramp. yeah...what does your
local skateshop do for you? so not only do these guys rock a mini in their shop they host a load of rock n' roll shows.
i truly appreciate this type of dedication, i also appreciate someone who doesn't mind
cleaning a toilet now and again. shit howdy! the kind of things crawling around in there
were straight out of the discovery channel.

"heineken...fuck that shit!...". if you know the quote then you know the beer and it
was flowing heavily at only $2 a bottle! with the $6 cover you got to skate the mini, check out the new plexifilm, "northwest" and rock out to duane peters and the hunns.
we eventually located gwood, rene and the rest of the sacrifice crew and after several beverages
were rallied indoors for the video premier. (check out the review and buy the video, it rocks!!) as soon as the video ended,
a full mini ramp session ensued with some young talent, old school style and pro rulers. patrick melcher stuck out not only in the crowd but on the ramp as he was busting the mini in his thick ass creepers. duane peters was abusing the coping while plenty of others were flippin', skippin' and trippin'.
loads of energy made for some killer skating all the while the band was getting set up. the
lineup was supposed to be powerflex 5 followed by duane peters and the hunns, for whatever reason powerflex didn't show.
duane peters is
really, really interesting to look at. he has shitloads of tattoos in some very unusual places and you just have to
check 'em out. the entire band has a super gnarly stage presence and a harshly refined sound, top it off with a nearly
topless, fire breathing bassist (corey...she's a she) and you have rock n'
roll! like a total jackass i stood right next to the monitors and by the end of
the night i was bleeding from the ears, weird. i highly recommend picking up their music or
catching them live if you get the chance.
after the show we mingled around for awhile, drank
some more and finally bailed. all in all it was a kick ass time! where were
you?
props to juvee and thanks for letting me use the
head.
bye, bye...barfly
p.s. check out the cool ass andre the giant / misfits
mural - obey!
