D.I., Damnation, Ill Repute
December 12, 2003 @ The Troubadour

The Troubadour was the place to make for a Friday night show with a couple of bands I hope you've heard of, the Dimwits, Damnation, Ill Repute and D.I.

Although I missed the Dimwits set, you could hear their name chanted and cheered by many throughout the night. Which is the positive sign that the band made an appearance, and left an impression.

Ill Repute

Ill Repute, who have influenced countless numbers of today's bands, took the stage moments after Brad from Punk Rock Skateboards/Team Goon and I made our way upstairs for a quick hello to boys in the bands, and proceeded to tear through their set. Founders and supporters of the Nardcore Scene, Ill Repute still blast through their songs with the same intensity when they first came on the scene in early 80's. Just awesome!

Ill Repute

Damnation followed up with their unique blend of punk rock and roll. This might have been an off night, since the majority of the crowd had punk on their mind. Nonetheless, Damnation stood up to the challenge and worked through their set like the troopers that they are.

Finally, the main act of the night, the band that told you to move up and have some fun - D.I. Casey and the crew were larger than life, and enjoyed every minute of every song. The floor was packed and swarmed continuously, in the every popular counterclockwise fashion, After playing all the best DI had to offer, they rounded the night with everyone's suburban favorite - Richard Hung Himself. But the big suprise was the final song, covering 'Aomeba' by The Adolescents. Truely amazing!!!

The bands played and the kids came. Everyone had a good time. Thanks to all. Check out the D.I. deck on Punk Rock Skateboards.
