Hightower - S/T LP Ear-Pollution CD
April 27th, 2007 14:25

San Francisco, home to the latest gathering of
idiots and weirdos, is where i stumbled upon the
LP that I am writing about right now. LP stands for
long playing vinyl, but I am sure you know that already. I mean,
you weren't born yesterday, after all.

Practically every metal band I listen to these days
is plagued by terrible singing. The vocals are either
nut-grabbingly high, like King Diamond, or growly metal rap like Slip-
knot. Hightower solved this problem by going primarily vocal free.

But a lack of vocals doesn't equal boring music, mind you.
Understanding that in order to rock, you only really need some
nasty riffage, solid drumming, and the sound of bottles breaking
nearby, Hightower delivers a gem in twelve inch vinyl form. Of course,
I know that you are waiting for me tell you what sound Hightower
emulates, but I have no such comparisons for you today. I will just end by
saying that you need to find this album and decide for yourself.
