Jonny Manak and The Depressives Ear-Pollution CD
March 19th, 2007 10:22
Punk has gone through a lot of changes over the past few years. Some would say it's dead or on the verge of death. Others would say it has merely changed and morphed in order to survive. I say punk is NOT DEAD and Jonnny Manak and The Depressives are living proof of that. Jonny Manak has been a staple in the Nor-Cal punk scene for years. Playing in bands like The Clay Wheels and The Cliftons has given Jonny the experience to go forward with his own project. "Rebound Town" the newest CD by Jonny Manak and The Depressives is an impressive first showing of some good old fashion punk rock. Clean guitar riffs and crispy vocals leave you with a ear full of good times and good music. Down the Drain, the first track on the album is a fast paced intro into the entire CD. Once you've jumped on board this train, there aint no stopping until it's done. Track number 5, "Sacrifice" is a kick ass song written for the opening scene in the new Sacrifice Film "Por Vida". Track 9 is a tale of skater haters in San Jose and track 11 is an excellent lick on getting dumped by your old lady. So there it is in a nut shell. Pick up a copy and go hit up your local park or pool, you won't be sorry.

The Walrus gives this CD 5 out of 5 tusks and a shot of J.D.
