So, it turns out that some folks actually read my editorial scribblings. After I bitched about not receiving my copy of Nowhere is Safe to review, I got an email reassuring me that a copy was on the way. Ahhh, the power of the pen. If only I could talk people into sending me money.
The Last of the Bad Men are the Godoys, Deniz Tek, Troy Zak, and some dude named Danny Creadon on vocals. Danny kinda looks like SteveO. And for those totally unfamiliar with some of the other names, go look up Exploding Fuck Dolls and Radio Birdman. Also, it appears that Mr. Creadon is the founder of Factory 13 skateboards. Thank you, Google. Anyway, with all these crusty old skate dudes in the band, you can pretty safely assume that the primary subject of this album is skateboarding. That is always good for a few bonus points in my book. The music is solid skate rock in the US Bombs/Hunns/whatever vein, and in true punk rock form clocks in under 30 minutes. For those unfamiliar with the aforementioned comparison bands, just imagine solid rhythm driven 4/4 rock with screamy type vocals. Lyrical gems abound, with my current favorite being "hit that coping you fucking stiff". It all adds up to a disc that will get you in the right frame of mind to go skate a backyarder.
