Testing, testing...
Roy Starin
Is this thing on? Yeah, looks like we are back up and running. Full speed ahead and all that jazz. It's been a little while since Ear Pollution has gotten any love, and there has been some music happening the whole time.

I am way behind on album reviews, so I am gonna keep this one short and sweet with just a few recommendations. First off, if you are a fan of indie type rock, there are two albums that you need to own right now. Clap Your Hands Say Yeah has their self-titled album out, and it is worth your time. I know I have mentioned them before in this column, but I wanna make sure you are not sleeping on this one. It's a hell of a debut.

Next up is one of my favorite bands in the world, Built To Spill. The new album is called You In Reverse, and it's right up there with my favorite BTS album, Keep It Like A Secret. And hell, while I am just throwing album titles around, take some time to track down Doug Martsch's solo album, Now You Know. It's a gospelly, bluesy, slide guitarry kinda deal and it's great.

Have you ever found yourself trying to get all sexed up with the old lady, and not able to find the Barry White or Sade? Oh wait, I bet you all screw to the Ramones or something don't you. Well, fuck that. Set the mood with some sexy ass music my friends, go buy the new Goldfrapp album. Hell, she might even let you do that one thing she never lets you do. You know what I am talking about.

Hah! Bet you didn't see that last one coming. That's what I am here for. Just trying to help expand the musical universe for y'alls. Speaking of musical universes, you need to experience the sound that is DJ Cesar in his native environment. Where is that, you ask? In a bar spinning records, of course. If you are in the Long Beach area, I command you to go to the Puka Bar on Wednesday or Friday nights to see him throw down. It's on Willow down by the 710. He plays what he wants, and it always rules.

Alright, that's enough for now. I gotta get ready for a Combi sesh. I wanna see if I can skate like those dudes did down at the contest last weekend. That shit was a mind blower. They made it look easy, so I am gonna go see what happens when I try it. I got the painkillers on standby. Wish me luck.

Send me stuff!
