journey to the pipe
father and son- Baldy spillway
Two years ago --around my birthday -- my best friend Jim Howell brought his son Clayton and visited me. On the morning of my birthday, we made a pilgrimage to Baldy Pipe. Samwise and Walnum went along and it was truly an adventure. Clayton had never been there and Jim was super amped to go there with his son. I turn 48 years old tomorrow. I feel my age everyday. Like the saying goes - "It's not the years, it's the mileage!" I have lived a life in no-ways tame. My bones ache and I must stretch before I can do anything. Instead of thinking about all the things I can no longer do and mope about advancing years, I try to think of all the good stuff I will still try... new things I will attempt to learn. I look around and wonder... mortality, infirmity, surrendering to the inevitable physical decline we all go through... The hell with all that! I'm going to go skate Baldy tomorrow. Thanks to Brian Walnum for the images and - Hey Jimbo! Get back out here soon brother! - Skate- Ozzie
