Mammoth. Dawn came and went. We were all out of it. The deep sleep. The team had only driven into Mammoth at about 4:30am... it was a long night. We were roomed in a lodge-type of place. It was pretty amazing actually. I went out early and walked. I took some photographs. The air was clean and clear. Boulders were cracked and split. I wondered about how gnarly it must have been to cross these peaks back in the day... Indians, Grizzly bears and mountain lions, peril at every step! Dang.
Aldrin- getting motivated
relaxing...
Alex with the Wave Rave crew and the team
Around 10:00 am everyone began stirring, coffee was made & grumbling was heard. Tired. Sore. We ate and went to a local shop - Wave Rave- and dropped off some autographed posters and things. The team then headed over to Mammoth skate park and saw that a local session was brewing. The area around Mammoth is beautiful for skating. Huge mountains hold up the blue sky and piles of snow still cling to the uppermost peaks. The air was clean and the terrain insane! The Powell Peralta team jumped into the session and it was 'on'. Josh Hawkins is rad! He put down FS Smiths and Aldrin Garcia sparked a fire with a Heelamonster.

Chad- FS Disaster
Shane Borland- FS Ollie- tombstone
The session grew heavier. Steven Reeves hit BS Disasters and FS grind reverts at Mach5. Chad Bartie floated FS ollies from bowl to bowl and FS Disasters on the huge extensions. Jordan Hoffart was in BS Smith mode and Shane Borland was everywhere at once. Ollie transfers and Sugarcane grinds were seen and admired. We spent the day in bright sunshine having fun and laughing with the locals... The team is sleeping as I write. We are going to get up and roll around 10:00am. We will spend the day filming and then tomorrow we leave for SF. Everyone is excited as we are to meet up with Steve Caballero and go skating. I cant think of anything better! Skate- Ozzie
